TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
GENERAL STANDARDS
We aim to ensure that all guests have a peaceful, relaxing stay at The Belmore. You will be provided with:
A clean, comfortable room for the duration of your stay complete with tea and coffee making facilities, Television, Iron and Ironing Board and a Hair Dryer. Our four poster, family room and room for less able also have a small fridge.
Changes of bed linen every four days and towels every three days for stays in excess of that duration. Your room will be made up, cleaned and restocked every day you are with us between 9-30a.m and 1 p.m
A generous home-cooked breakfast made from high quality ingredients every day of your stay.
An en-suite shower room and toilet, stocked with towels, shower gel and toilet paper, cleaned every day you are with us. You can be assured of the highest levels of cleanliness and service to detail at all times.
In return, when staying at The Belmore, we would ask you to treat it as you would your own home. In cases of bad behaviour, nuisance or rudeness to guests and proprietors, or excessive noise, you may be asked to leave the premises without any refund of your costs. We also require the right to make a charge for additional cleaning in the event that a room is left in an excessively dirty or damaged state. Naturally, we hope we never have to use these measures against any guest.
RESERVATIONS:
Reservations prior to arrival will be subject to a deposit equivalent of a one night stay for your party payable by Debit/Credit card, Cheque or Cash. The deposit is usually non-refundable unless we are able to re-let the room/s.
Time permitting, written confirmation of your reservation will be sent to you via Royal Mail or email. Balance of the cost for the stay is to be paid on arrival.
ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES:
We prefer to welcome guests between 14.00 and 18.00hrs. Earlier or later arrivals are possible by prior arrangement. If you are able to give us your expected time of arrival, we would be very grateful.
Please vacate your room by 10.00 on the day of your departure.
MEALS
Al guests will be offered a breakfast consisting of Fresh Fruit salad, cereal, fruit juice and a home cooked full British Breakfast with toast, freshly brewed tea and/or coffee. Breakfast is usually served between 8.15 and 9.00a.m. However, we will supply an earlier breakfast by request.
The cost of your breakfast is included in the overnight stay. No refunds will be given for meals not taken.
SMOKING:
In accordance with U.K. law, The Belmore is a no-smoking guest house. Guests may smoke on the Patio outside and ash-trays can be provided. We would ask you to comply with this policy as damage caused by smoking may invalidate our insurance.
Guests found smoking inside the Guest House will be asked to leave and will have no part of the cost of their stay refunded. Additionally, if a guest has been smoking in their room they will be charged an additional fee of up to £100.00 for thorough cleaning of the room.
PETS:
We regret that we cannot accommodate pets at The Belmore but Guide Dogs are accepted subject to prior arrangement.
ACCESS STATEMENT:
The Belmore is an Edwardian House located within a two minute walk from Sandown’s’ award winning beach and the Town Centre.
CAR PARKING:
There is free on street parking outside The Belmore and there is a pay and display car park opposite the Guest House. This Car Park is free between the hours of 18.00hrs and 8.00 the following morning. Guests using this facility are advised to ensure that a parking ticket is purchased at 8.a.m
We do have space for one guest car at the rear of our home subject to availability and by prior arrangement. Guests using this facility do so at their own risk and the Proprietors cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to vehicles either deliberate or accidental
In order to gain entrance to The Belmore, there is one step from the pavement on to a pathway. This is followed by two steps to a flat surface then one step into the guest house. Please ring the door bell on arrival as the front door is usually kept closed for reasons of security. Guests will be given a key to their room and to the front door in order that they may come and go as they please.
MAIN ENTRANCE
The Reception of the Belmore is completely flat leading directly to the Dining Room and our down stairs room for the less-able. The hallway is flat and leads directly to a carpeted staircase to the upper floor. (Rooms 1 – 7)
Access to rooms 1, 2, and 3 is via three more steps followed by a flat carpeted floor. Access to rooms 4,5 6 and 7 is flat. All stairs within the Guest House are of Standard depth tread.
We are able to provide refrigeration for drugs and special dietary needs. However, guests should note that there may not be a 24 hour access to the fridge.
Fire alarms are tested weekly by the proprietors and every six months by an approved company. The alarm is a continuous loud bell which can be clearly heard throughout the building. Guests will be given prior notice when tests will be carried out to avoid panic. If no prior notice is given, please on hearing the fire alarm comply with the fire arrangements in your room. Do NOT assume it is a test!
OPENING HOURS:
We are open all year except for occasional leave periods.
FUTURE PLANS:
Considerable refurbishment has taken place each year on our quiet season in order to improve the service to our guests. Further improvements are planned in 2011 to ensure the Guest experience is maintained and improved. This will include some new carpeting decorating of rooms and the upgrade of all televisions.
We aim to maintain our four star rating and to achieve a four star silver award classification in the not too distant future.
Our policy is to provide our guests with high quality, immaculate, clean and comfortable rooms and a breakfast using only the highest quality of food produce. Where possible we use local produce.
Feedback from guests is encouraged and welcomed.
